Fisherman fly fishing for silver salmon

Fishing Alaska for:
Chum, Pinks, Silvers, Dolly Varden,
Halibut and Cod .....................

Rocky River Lodge is located 20 minutes from Homer Alaska across Kachemak Bay in the Wilderness Mountains of Port Graham, Alaska.  Our salmon fishing is most unique because its location is not accessible by the general public because of inaccessibility by land and unnavagible water into Rocky or Windy River.  Consequently fishing is accessed only by guest of Rocky River Lodge and residents of Port Graham, Alaska, who live some 26 miles away. With the incredible overcrowding roadside waters experience throughout the summer, this salmon fishing opportunity is priceless..  We say, it is not about numbers, but rather the enjoyment of catching salmon after salmon without competition.

From the Gulf of Alaska the annual spawn of Chum (Dog), Humpback (Pink) and Coho (Silver Salmon) Salmon and Dolly Varden (Char) into Rocky and Windy Rivers begin in July and continue well into and past September. With the salmon spawns overlapping, you can often enjoy catching two species or more during your trip throughout the season. With every high tide fresh salmon will enter the rivers to spawn and the salmon already there will continue up river which will provide you countless opportunities and locations to catch salmon and dollies all day long.

Just think, no shoulder to shoulder fishing, no boats, no civilization and no rushing - just pure unadulterated wilderness! Equally important, there is never any hustle in your stay at Rocky River Lodge. We prefer that the guests set the tempo for the day when it comes to salmon fishing, meals and relaxation. If fantastic fishing, wilderness lodging, wildlife, scenery, privacy and silence, yes silence , are important to you,  Rocky River Lodge can and will fulfill your Alaska fishing trip expectations. Join us this coming season for the greatest trip ever!  Make Port Graham Alaska and Rocky River Lodge your next fishing destination.
